Last week we hit a great milestone with CamdenDirect – 100,000 quotes entered through the website. This amount of activity, since launch in March 2021, indicates how successful and useful the system has been for Camden’s customers.

CamdenDirect is an in-depth window and door ordering system, which is accessed through an online portal. The software is available to all Camden’s customers and gives them full access over design, quotes and orders.

Camden are the first window manufacturer in the UK and Ireland to have designed our own fully integrated software from the point of customer requirements all the way through to product delivery and acceptance.

CamdenDirect is a modern web application hosted on Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing service. The tech stack we use includes:

• ASP.Net – the cross-platform, open-source framework for building web apps and services
• C# - Microsoft’s amazing object-oriented programming language
• JavaScript – the language of the web! And getting better all the time
• Azure SQL - relational database service built for the cloud, automatically scaling to meet the requirements of CamdenDirect
• Entity Framework - a modern object-database mapper for .NET
• SignalR – allowing us to have real-time communications with our CamdenDirect users.
• Azure DevOps – agile planning, CI/CD and hosted Git repos allow us to ship quickly and confidently new, quality features, to the customer.
